In or around Hua Hin? Come to the hash this Saturday, get some exercise, solve puzzles, make new friends, eat at new restaurants and have a few beers (if you want) – it’s an adventure, with friends, and it’s not in Cha-am!

An Adventure
Every week, someone creates a new adventure for you. You’ll meet up with 30, 40 or 50+ new friends and start following a trail. It can take you through fields, mountains, temples, jungles, farms, you name it – on boats, through caves, we try to keep it interesting.
Then the trail stops.
It’s your job to find it again, together, with your pack. How you find it is part of the adventure, and it’s not always easy!
Whether you’re on the walkers’ trail or the runners’ trail, everyone has to solve the trail to finish the adventure and make it back to the beer – and you get to help.
Never Hashed Before? Hashed Once, But Meh?
Too many people explain hashing as running and drinking, which it is, but this is a lot like describing eating dinner as chewing and pooping. Sure, it is, BUT YOU’RE MISSING THE POINT.
Hashing, at least with us, is four things:
- Adventure
- Exercise
- Social Event
- Community
Mostly, it’s a new way to spend your Saturday afternoon – and evening if you choose – getting off your butt, getting out of town, getting sweaty and, if you want, getting a bit tipsy as you make new friends. Then, the next Saturday, we do it again, and it’s unique every time.
There’s a lot packed in there, so let’s delve in a bit – or you can email us at chaamhash@gmail.com if you have questions or want to join 😁
Exercise
We don’t compete, that’s an unwritten rule, but we have plenty of runners and we have plenty of walkers.
We have people on the trails from 5 years old to 90, and they’re all out there to stay active – and it’s not a pain in the butt, because the trail and the friends you run, or walk with keep you too busy to notice how far you’ve gone and how fast you went.
A Social Event With A Community Of Friends
After the trail is finished, we gather around in a circle, welcome new friends, and welcome back old friends. Then we drag people in and make fun of whatever dumb things they did that day on the trail. If we have first time hashers, we give them a little ceremony, and when it’s all done we say goodbye to any departing friends and then we go to dinner together, where the fun continues.
At our most recent event, two of our newest members played bluegrass, and we put on a free BBQ at another member’s house – but usually we eat at a new, or beloved restaurant and stick around to drink beer and tell stories.

STILL NOT SURE IF THE HASH IS FOR YOU?

It’s Not In Cha-am!
First off, while we do run near town very, very occasionally for specific events, most of our runs are out in the green around Hua Hin, not Cha-am. Sometimes we run in or around Cha-am, but our hash, while founded in Cha-am, is basically The Other Hua Hin Hash these days.
All of our runs since the last AGM (the annual event where we bring on a new committee) are to the left. We’ve run all round there, further out, and everywhere in between since 2005.
Is Our Hash For You?
Every hash is different. Some are raunchy. Some are extremely athletic. Some walk from bar to bar. Some are “stroller and pet friendly.” We strike a balance. No pets in strollers, though.
We try to keep it funny, but not brutally offensive. The trails are legit, we don’t pull punches on runners, but we’re not trying to kill you either. We don’t drink before, or during the run, but we definitely do after. We have 5 year-olds & 90 year-olds, Thai & foreign members, men & women, athletes & folks who come for a stroll. Soon we’ll have you, we hope!

Something like this might look fun, but maybe you’re thinking, “Man will I fit in?” To shortcut, unless you’re a dick or you’re so weird that other weird people notice, you’ll be fine.
Or “How will I get there? I don’t drive.” We’ll work with you on that, just email us at chaamhash@gmail.com, we help people all the time.
What about, “Do I have to join?” No, there is no real joining. At some point we’ll give you a nickname, and start treating you like a regular, but that’s not much different than your local pub, is it?
“What if I don’t like it?” You thought that about broccoli once, and look at you now – wait, possibly bad analogy.
“Do I have to RSVP or register?” Not at all. Turn up, don’t turn up. Stay for the circle and dinner, or don’t. Entirely up to you. We don’t have a lot of rules, just be friendly and come have fun – and if there’s anything else we can answer, you can always reach us at chaamhash@gmail.com.
On On!
